¡Hola!
I’ve been “in school” literally my entire life. I love to learn, to teach, and get to know new people! I’ve taught English in Madrid for years, from kids to executives, medical doctors, journalists, athletes, and even a few royals. I then switched things up and moved to the United States to teach Spanish. I’ve been at the University of Michigan teaching many levels of Spanish for many, many years! I’m available for remote language lessons in either English or Spanish. I’m so happy to be part of the vibrant environment of Linguasol.
My Spanish teaching approach is all about making language learning accessible and enjoyable, especially for adult learners. I understand that many adults feel anxious about picking up a new language, often thinking they might be "too old" to learn. I work to break that myth by creating a welcoming and supportive environment where everyone feels empowered to take on the challenge.
What makes my approach unique is my focus on demystifying the learning process. I break down complex concepts into manageable pieces, making it easier for my students to grasp the language. I emphasize that learning a foreign language is not just for kids; it’s a lifelong journey that can be enriching at any age. I encourage my students to embrace their unique experiences and perspectives, which can actually enhance their learning.
I also tailor my teaching strategies to fit different learning styles, ensuring that everyone finds a method that resonates with them. My goal is to instill confidence in my students, showing them that it’s never too late to learn something new. With my passion for language education, I aim to inspire adult learners to enjoy the process and celebrate their progress, no matter how small.
